Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain Crowns can look very natural and are mostly used on front teeth and on people that do not grind their teeth.

Metal-based crowns have traditionally been used to strengthen or rebuild teeth that are heavily worn, but these were not very aesthetically pleasing. Now, with the latest advancements in cosmetic dentistry, porcelain crowns can now look much better that your original teeth.

The tooth will be prepared to the ideal shape of the crown. This will involve removing most of the outer surface of the tooth leaving the core. The thickness of the crown will be the same as the amount of tooth that has been removed. An impression is taken of the area, taking into consideration the bite and overall desired look of the tooth, matching it to the surrounding teeth perfectly.

The exterior of the crown can be altered and shaped, to take into account any cosmetic changes that you require.
